Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro suddenly not letting us do some stuff

Certain links we typically are able to open, won't.  Was there an update today or what should I look at?

I think it has to do with an IE9 setting, maybe. Some links open, some links don't. We have an intranet app that runs via IE and everyone on IE8, works fine.  I am not sure what the difference is between one link and another, but, they are in different areas of our custom biz app. Links in one area open fine, links in another area won't.  And it is only on mine machine running IE9. Box is a Winpro7.

In pic 1, the 3 different link areas shown all go to the same place, a network drive. The folders are in different areas, but on the same drive.  This is all intranet.

in pic 2, this is a different issue, but has to do with pdf linked and I wonder if somehow related, as they both seem related.

Web Browsers

Web browsers are applications used primarily to display documents, files and media from the Internet, identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that can be a page, image, video or other file. Some browsers require the use of add-ons or extensions to safely render the information they receive; others have systems built into them to perform the same functions.
