Where are Firefox Search Engine options
I use Firefox 15.0.1 (MS XP) with Google as my default search engine.
When I type a query in the search pane, it uses Google News
as the default place to look. I want the default to be Google
Search (ie search the web and not the news).
Where are the options to set this? (It is not in
the drop down that lets me swtich between Google
and Bing.)
Also, I'd like to eliminate some of the items on the black Google
tool bar (see attached screen shot) like "+You" and "PLay" and
"YouTube" and "Drive" and "Calendar" leaving just the
few I actually use. Is this possible?
Thank you.

If you click on the little down arrow beside the icon in the Search bar, one of the options is "Manage Search Engines". The items on the black bar in Google are part of the Google web pages. The 'Search Settings' option under the 'gear' symbol on the right do not list anything about selecting what options are listed in the black bar.

Not sure what you mean. I had tried the drop down; it shows the two search engines I use, Bing and Google. There is no setting for the Google Service -- Google Search vs. Google News. Mine always defaults to News. If I enter "lamp" in the search box it will look under News unless I remember to also select "Search" from the black bar. Can I make it
default to "Search"?
As to the gear options: are you saying that I can not pick the Google Services I want to show on the black bar? I must keep their choices?

That worked!
But not the "Get More...." Instead pick "Restore Defaults" to
reset the default to Google Web Search.
Thank you!

Cool, I'll make a note. Glad to help and thanks for the points.
