asked on

connections locked, application pool restart fixes it. why?

I have a website that was running just fine, but when I put it into production, everyone once and a while it gets stuck when it tries to connect to the database.

if I restart the application pool, it starts working right away.

I'm at a loss.

any ideas?

As you are connecting the database, Are you also closing the connection opened during your query?

Always closing the connection.

I'm still clueless.   This is an intranet system with only about 10 people working on it!  If it isn't open connections, what could it be?  There's nothing in the event logs, no bugs on anything.
