Cant Ping ESXi Hosts from another VLAN

Dear Experts

I have an issue connecting to my ESXi host via a VPN tunnel. I can ping everything on the subnet except my hosts. So to remove the VPN from the equation I am trying locally. I have two VLANS. VLAN 100 for the VMs and VLAN 900 for Management, ESXi is on the management VLAN. If I am on the VLAN 900 I can ping the hosts and all other equiptment on this VLAN. If I am on VLAN 100 i can ping everything on VLAN 100 and VLAN 900 except for the hosts. There is a trunk between the VLAN and it works correctly otherwise i wouldnt be able to ping any of the other management equiptment.

So unless im connected the to phycial switch on VLAN 900 I cant ping the hosts even though i can ping everything else. This also is the same for the VPN, i can ping everything except the host. The goal is to be able to open the vSphere client from my desk and control the hosts who are on the other side of the vpn tunnel. However this isnt working locally either.

Is there something i need to add to the host or the switch?

Please help
