Paging File: Cause & troubleshooting

Hi,

This is related to the Paging File.

One of the server in the Main Office sent a message that The Paging File has reached 90%

I checked the Virtual Memory (at that server) is 1.5 RAM

My Question: How to know the Causes of it and how to troubleshoot it? (Per my understanding: If it is related to the CPU Spike, I can use the Task Manager>Processess> then watch which processes that cause the CPU Spike, then Google it; and the Paging file is different with the CPU Spike)

Thanks,
tjie

Post the message and what is the concern here? Is that causing any issue. normally you should have enough disk space where you have the page file set. Normally it is C drive.

check the amount of memory that is installed on that server , usually the same size should be allocated to Page File .

Hi all,

Thanks for all the comments .....

But , This is my question:

My Question: How to know the Causes of it and how to troubleshoot it?

-How to know the Causes? What tools do we use to know the Causes? Event Viewer? Task Manager? Performance Monitor?

- Please explain a little bit related using of the tools; for example, if you use the Task Manager ...which Tab to be used, etc

Thanks,
tjie
