VB 6 and Access 2007

How do I get VB 6 to accept the accdb extention in access 2007. In access 2007 I have saved the database as access 2000 extention mdb and tried to connect it to VB 6, but it give me the error. I wrote my older access program from 1999 and used my VB 3 program to create a stand alone program. Since that time I started using VB 6 and Microsoft Office 2007.
