Server 2012 Essentials on Built Hardware

I am looking to use Microsoft Server 2012 Essentials for a client.  Will be my first time using it.  Since I am really just using it for file sharing, does anyone see an issue with using a souped up computer setup?

With this configuration, if a hardware component was to fail, I figure I could swap it out quickly with a spare system.

Wasn't sure of the need to use Raid, etc.

Would a good built system, Quad Core Intel, etc, give me better performance than the HP Microserver's with the AMD Turion II Neo N40L 1.5GHz 2-Core?

Was just wondering if a better process would increase performance.  Can you put a USB 3.0 card in the Micro?
