Firewall / DMZ / cross-connect

I was reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMZ_(computing) and it looks like below is the best option.

What recommendations do you have (i.e. cross-connect two racks, etc) since all of my equipment will not fit in one 42U rack ?

Steps
 1. user from outside world
 2. firewall #1
 3. DMZ --> web application server
 4. firewall #2
 5. Internal Network --> database server
 6. step 4, 3, 2, 1
 7. repeat
