apologies if there is an easy solution but i have been racking my head for 2 days, i have a domain with 20 users under SBS 2011 they currently get their email via a catch all email pop3 account using GFI essentials with exchange 2010.
                the problems occur when i try to configure aliase accounts for some of the users, i.e there is a generic account called info@domain.com and i wish several users to receive emails from this account alongside their uniquely addressed emails. they also want to receive emails which may have been mispelt or sent to an account which is no longer valid(active).
   some of the users also want up to three different email aliases.
when i go to their mailbox and go to the email addresses tab . there is an option to add additional email addresses however when i try to add i get;

Set-Mailbox
Failed
Error:
The proxy address "smtp:info@domain.com" is already being used by "domain.local/MyBusiness/Users/SBSUsers/info". Please choose another proxy address.

             i may be trying to configure incorrectly hopefully someone will tell me, I created an info@domain.com account in order to get the email address info@domain.com maybe this is an incorrect way ?
humbly seeking help from a wizard.
