Export a sharepoint site and import it to another sharepoint farm
I have 2 standalone sharepoint servers and I have a subsite http://site2/company2 and I want to move everything from the subsite company2 to http://site1/company2
Is there an easy way to do this? I have tried backing up the site but it will only let me do the top level site which is no good. Any ideas?

Save the site as a template with content. Then create the site from template and customize new name if changing and delete old.

STSADM cannot backup a single site. Therefore please follow the instructions from my first link. Then you can export and import a complete site.

I am trying to but I have ran into another issue in on my server where I cant actually create a new site....
This is an old SP standard 2010 that was moved to a sharepoint 2010 foundation site and now whenever I try to create a new site I am seeing this in the logs
Failed to read resource file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\Resources\dl
and
Failed to read resource file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\Resources\cm
I'm guessing this is something to do with either an old feature or because I downgraded to foundation, however I am stuck and cant find out what is wrong any ideas?

how did you downgrade?
But I think you should open a new question with a different title for solving the site creation and we would come back to this question as soon as you can create sites.
Please provide as much info as possible about your environment and its history.

I have tried to use stsadm -backup and -export to move it with no success.
I only want this 1 subsite and nothing else to do with server2 moved to server 1.
