Resize Grid with graphics in it
I have used illustrator to create a coat-of-arms. Then I copy-pasted it into InDesign and using it to frame an image. After that i created a rectangle and filled it with a 4x4 grid with Grid Mode and used the Content Placer Tool to populate the 16 frames with my graphic.
Now I'd like to resize my 4x4 grid (the outermost rectangle holding the 4x4 grid) to change the spacing between the coat-of-arms. I don't won't to scale the graphics.
Problem is that all 16 coat-of-arms are sitting still and the only thing that resizes is a 4x4 clipping mask (!) Any suggestions?

I had all 16 rectangles grouped together. As soon as I ungrouped them your solution worked. Is there a way to get this to work with grouped rectangles? It gets anoying to select all rectangles in a crowded document.

That worked like a charm. I would argue that Adobe might have made this operation a bit more intuitive, but at least this will get the job done.

Glad you hear it works for you.
Select all the rectangles, using the black arrow.
Go to one of the corners with your mouse and and click and hold.
Now add the spacebar and while holding it down move your mouse to resize the gaps.
