Server 2008 Booting to System Recovery Options
A customer called stating they could not boot heir server. They also seemed to have one bad drive out of a hardware RAID5. HP replaced the disk but still cannot boot Windows. When it boots, it goes to System Recovery Options. In ther we have the options, 'System Image Recovery', Memory Diagnostics' and 'Command Prompt'. Chose command prompt and from there can change to C: drive and see that the files are there. The data on D: is also there. Tried the following:
- X:\sources\recovery> startrep.exe (finds no problems)
- SFC.EXE /scannow /offbootdir:c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows (finds no problems)
- chkdsk /r (no problems)
- bootrec /scanos (Total identified Windows installations : 0 )
- X:\sources\recovery> startrep.exe (finds no problems)
- SFC.EXE /scannow /offbootdir:c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows (finds no problems)
- chkdsk /r (no problems)
- bootrec /scanos (Total identified Windows installations : 0 )
