BDS Admin Tools

Can someone confirm if the server address must be right in order to manage the server?

If so, what should it be?

I have tried the local server.domain.local

New BES10.

Thanks, i have read this a number of times.  Still none the wiser.

Issue i have with this is unable to register devices OTA.  Wired is fine via WDM.
So i was going to try and install the admin tools for BDS but stuck here too.

Do you use a mail server? ie exchange?

Yes, exchange.
Go in to ESM and Default SMTP Virtual Server Properties’->’Advanced’

Check the DNS name and see if it resolves. That should be the server.

Otherwise i am not sure i can help to much further :(

We will use activesync....

Where do you mean for:

Go in to ESM and Default SMTP Virtual Server Properties’->’Advanced’
In Exchange system Manager.

Go to Default SMTP server.

Right-click.

Properties.

Delivery.

Advanced.

And it displays your server DNS name (FQDN) and you can hit "check".

I was presuming this would be the DNS server name you were looking for in your screenshot.

Got ActiveSync up and running and managed to get the playbook registered albeit using wireless not OTA>
Have also installed standalone BES10 router, but can test this as yet as no more devices to hand..
