verizon phone in Taiwan
Hi,
My boss is travling to Taiwan for a meeting. He has a verizon phone, I checked Verizon's site, I know he can use Verizon phone in Taiwan.
I basically have two questions:
1. How can he dial back to US?
2. How the office can contact him?
I am getting different answers when I contacted Verizon, one said he has to dial country code, one said just dial as usual. Such as 1+212+123+4567
for both calling and receiving
Any EEs have this experience? thx

He has HTC INC 4G, this phone has built in CDMA and GSM , so if he select GSM network, and his phone is 1-212-777-8888
for dialing back to us, +1-212-111-2222
for us to call him, 1-212-777-8888

Yes, this is correct. Since Taiwan has mostly GSM coverage, then he dials + 1-212-111-2222 to dial a number in the US. For the US to call him, just dial his phone number as you would normally.
FYI, I would add a Global Data Package to his device if you haven't already. The Pay as you go rate for data are $20.48/Megabyte vs. $25.00/100 Megabyte if you added the data package beforehand.

Local Number in Taiwan - Dial Plus Sign then Country Code then Local Number with Area Code (if applicable)
Other Countries - Dial Plus Sign then Country Code then international number
VZW Customer Service - Dial Plus Sign then 1 then 908-559-4899

Is it HTC Incredible or HTC Incredible 2?
HTC Incredible will ONLY work in areas that support CDMA (see map in first link I sent)...
HTC Incredible 2 is a global phone, and if it is unlocked by Verizon, you can put a local SIM card in it and get local GSM service there as well.
