AutoCad 2013 - How to identify new format files from old format (2007-2012) files

Does anyone know how I can scan a network share full of AutoCad files and identify which files are formatted in the NEW 2013 format (a HUGE upgrade in the format) vs files which are formatted in the OLDER (2007-2012) format?  We need to convert all unconverted 2012 files to version 2013 in bulk.  In some cases, we also need to DOWN-CONVERT documents already saved in the 2013 format.

We do NOT want to run the batch convert (DWG TrueView) on jobs that are already converted.

Thanks!

I almost broke my finger trying to upvote this post so hard.  This is EXACTLY what I was looking for and I couldn't figure out how to even phrase the question.  Of course it makes sense that the file header has the versioning information.

THANK YOU.
