Remove samsung kies pdlr startup

Hello. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy SIIImini with Kies installed in my PC (WXP SP3). I'm not using Kies Air Message. I see Kies PDLR running on background in my PC. I've unchecked it from startup software with MSCONFIG but each time I use Kies the Kies PDLR is included again on startup software.
It is necessary that Kies PDLR run on background in my PC?
If the answer is "not", How can I disable this background item?
Thanks

In the settings for Kies Air Message, there should be a checkbox for run automatically when windows starts.  Set MSConfig back to  normal startup then uncheck it.

Thank you but I've not installed Kies Air Message. I need to install it for unchecking the checkbox?

Thank you but the problem continues. I've followed the next steps:
1. Set back MSConfig to normal startup
2. Restart my system
3. Execute Kies
4. Tools -> Preferences: There are an unchecked box about load the components in memory for fast execution. The box is unchecked and I've left it unchecked
5. Tools -> Start Kies Air Message: Kies ask me to install this component. I accept the installation and Kies download and install this component.
6. Tools -> Start Kies Air Message: A window alerts to me that there are not any Wi-Fi network. That is true because I'm not interested in Wi-Fi for connecting my device.
7. I close Kies and restart my PC
8. An icon for Kies Air Message appears on my system tray. I right-click the icon -> Settings. I can see the checked box for running the component on startup. I've unchecked the box.
9. I restart my PC. The icon don't appears on my system tray but the "Native KiesPDLR" is always running on background.

Its a helper app to detect your phone being plugged in and your not alone: http://www.samsunggalaxys3forum.com/forum/samsung-galaxy-apps/8622-kies.html

You could disable it with http://www.winpatrol.com (the free version is fine); but, it will come back each time you run KIES.

That forum thread suggests using My Phone Explorer instead, which is also free:

I had a similar issue. A user uninstalled the Kies program and has been receiving an error that its files were not found. I solved this by searching the registry for "KiesPDLR" found the spot where it is trying to run at startup and removed the registry entry. Before I changed anything in the registry I backed it up as a precaution.

Hope it helps.
