Asterisk and IM
Hi,
I've looked around but not found an answer to this question....
I'd like to have IM using the same "account" as our asterisk extensions, so the guys can IM each other from their soft phones. - it can then do online / offline and presence all in once place.
I really don't want to have to maintain an additional set of accounts for each user and have them manage 2 sets of contacts, 2 apps and 2 things to remember each time they're away or back.
I'm sure there must be some apps / something out there to make this happen?
Thanks
Steven

ASKER
I'm using asterisk now - it has freepbx - it was installed last week and everything's pretty much up to date.
I use x-lite and bria on the workstations and mobiles. I don't really care about the mobiles tho.
Thanks

Thanks so much for the help.
I haven't done it yet, but on paper it's all looking like it's going to work.

Depending on the install, this will tell me which route you need to take, SIMPLE, XMPP.
