yahoo plus outgoing mail is not working

hi experts,

 i setup outlook a month ago with yahoo plus email and it was working fine until today. I changed nothing on my end. i do a test account settings and get the following...

Send a test emailed message: cannot connect to your outgoing SMTP email server. if you continue to recieve this message, contact your server or internet service provider.

Doesn't Yahoo have a captcha text that requires to be entered when logging in?

Please access the web interface and check the security settings for your Yahoo plus account as well as the provided help section on configuring Outlook  for Yahoo Plus.

Also, check if your pc has virusguard/firewall settings put in place recently. If so, disable these and try again to connect using Outlook.

i checked outlook plus settings and they are correct. I turned off firewall and anti-virus and same issue.

On the Outlook version that you use, in account settings, is there an option to test email account settings?

In Outlook 2003 it was something like:
Tools > Email Accounts > View/Change email accounts > click next - select change > Test account settings

Note that you will need to select the applicable email account if you have multiple accounts.

What happens when you do this test please?

i removed the anti-virus, re-installed and it worked. go figure...
