Hello:

A Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 client is using the Sales Order Processing Print Sales Document.  When trying to print the report, nothing happens.  There is no error.  But, nothing is printed either.

We have already tried to check the box for reprinting prevously printed documents.  No joy.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I've seen this type of behavior a few times, and although there are a few possible causes, my first guess is that a modified report is not available to the user.

First, open user security under Tools -> Setup -> System -> User Security.  Enter the user ID and select the company.  Check which Alternate Reports ID is selected at the bottom of the window.

Next, click on the link for Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports ID at the bottom of that window.  When the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports window opens, choose Product = Dynamics GP and Type = Reports.  The form should refresh.  If there are any folders listed, see if Sales appears. If so, expand it and see if a SOP invoice report is listed.  If so, expand it and see if there is a Modified version of the report (see screen shot) and if it is selected.

If the modified report is selected, the user needs access to the modified REPORTS.DIC file.

If this is the case, open the Dynamics.set file on the user's workstation/session and check the path of the REPORTS.DIC file.  Make sure that the path for the REPORTS.DIC file is pointing to the shared reports dictionary.  You can check another workstation to see where it is located.

Let me know if that has you going in the right direction to resolve it.

Thanks,
