Allow domain users to install software updates

Hi,

I have windows 2008 DC and users having mixture of windows xp, windows 7 client machines added to domain.

Now user are not allowed to install any updates for any software's like adobe acrobat, skype etc.

How I can provide this access to users. I want them to allow to install only updates and they should not do new application installations. Any way we can do this using Group policy.

Thanks
Pradeep

Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

this is just for windows update, if u want updates just for skype and acrobat it can be done but not via GPO.
u can run scheduler which checks for updates and install on all user domains if required.
other than that your hands are tied.
