Outlook 2010 connect to Exchange 2007 while transitioning to  Exchange 2010

Outlook 2010 user gets Windows security window to popup

Microsoft Outlook
Connecting to user  <user@site.com>

                        OK     Cancel

- does not ask for user of password
- Outlook is connected to Exchange and is up to date (bottom right hand corner)

- if I cancel or hit OK,   outlook status changes from connected to Enter Password

- able to send and receive emails when Security window is up

have existing Exchange 2007 server
- added Exchange 2010 server
----------------
- made changes to DNS for Autodiscover and OWA to point to new  2010
- legacy entry points to Exchange 2007

Client did not test OWA -
