Hey guys,

We recently installed a new Dell PowerConnect 2848 layer 2 switch. Ports utilized 47-25. All the devices connected to the Switch lose its connectivity after about 10 min, requiring me to actually start using the computer, in order to re-authenticate the NIC with the switch. Additionally, the actual PC will be pingable during the down time.

I’ve disable Green Ethernet configuration, Disabled Port Based Authentication state, set authentication method to NONE but still have the same issues.

I did notice that Danamic Address Aging only can be set to 630 sec, which is about 10.5 min.

Unit info:
Load Balance Layer2
LAG: 1 - Static
Admin flow control: enabled
Back Presure: disabled
Flow controll: enabled
MDI/MDIX: Auto

Not a DHCP Server

Software version 1.0.0.44
Boot Version 1.0.0.13
Hardware version 00.00.03

Please advice.
NOTE: I may not respond back right away as I travel a lot, but will sure to give points to the deserving solution.

Thank you in advance

Possibly a firmware or NIC driver bug?
Can you post sanitized full config?

Thanks Tamas, after some time spend with DELL, the switch was labled as faulty.
Thanks for your respond.
