Hello,
We have a 200A fortigate unit in one of our branch offices.
The 200A unit contract is about to expire and instead of renewing the contract on this old unit, we are considering a purchase of a new fortigate unit 60D + 8x5 one year contract which costs less!
according to http://www.avfirewalls.com website, the 60D unit has better specs then the 200A that we currently have. it that correct ? Am i missing something ?

Best Regards
Matan.

The 60D is a D-generation box, while the 200A is an A-generation, which is a lot older, so yes, the 60D is a lot more powerful: gigabit ports; better fw, ips and vpn throughput.
I didn't check, but it might not have some HA features (like active-active pair) that the 200 series does, but if you don't need those, then the 60D should be fine.

I would highly recommend purchasing a new unit versus renewing the warranty / services on the 200A.   The D Series provide better performance in a smaller form factor as well as support for newer OS build moving forward.     If you need WiFi,   The FortiWiFi 60D has  built in WiFi.     HA is supported through the DMZ interface although dual PS's are not.

The 60D includes FortiAsic version2.

I would recommend 7 x 24 support if it is a single unit configuration in a production environment.  Cross ship replacement clock starts the day of the down event where as 8 x 5 could present problems on the weekends.
