getting access to a mailbox wiyhin exchange 2007 when the actual domain user has been removed

We removed a user a couple of months ago, when they left the company, and retained the mailbox.

We can see it within exchange system manager, but how do we go about recovering it or accessing it, as it seems that we now need to find something within it.

Any advice appreciated.
