Maximum E-mails Sent before being detected as a Spammer

Hi, Experts!

Is there a general rule on how many e-mail messages can be sent out per IP address per hour or day before the blacklist organizations detect and temporarily flag it as a source for spam?  I have a number of users that do this on a daily basis from different small businesses with a single IP for SMTP.  They try to stay under 100 messages per day but I wonder if they could send out more.

Thanks!

Blacklist organizations get their input from ISPs and web hosts, not from individuals.  Those are the people that set the limits for using their services.  And that's who you have to ask to see what the limits are.

Thanks, DaveBaldwin!  I contacted our provider and they told me their daily maximum (5,000) per IP address.
