search Outlook PST file

I have several pst files. Some of them are 15 gigs large. I do not want to use Outlook. Is there an utility to search through those pst file. Like if I want to look for an email for example. Thanks

If you add the PST file to Outlook and make sure that Windows Indexing is set to index everything in Outlook (it'll take a while to index that much), then you could use Windows Search to do the actual searching.

Go into Indexing Options in control panel.  Click on Modify.  Expand out the Outlook section and make sure that everything is checked.

Here are four products that will do it:

Expensive ($200): dtSearch Desktop
http://www.dtsearch.com/PLF_desktop_2.html

Mid-price ($50): X1 Search 8
http://www.x1.com/products/x1_search/

Mid-price ($50): Copernic Desktop Search Professional
http://www.copernic.com/en/products/desktop-search/professional/index.html

FREE ($0): Copernic Desktop Search
http://www.copernic.com/en/products/desktop-search/home/index.html

(Note: the Free version of Copernic can search only email; if you want to search appointments, tasks, and notes, you'll need the Pro version.)
