SQL server connection error for asp.net app

Hello,

I'm trying to install our ASP.NET application on a Windows Vista laptop. The database is SQL Server 2012 Express.

I can login as the user specified in web.config. But, when I run my web application, I get an error message that it can't login to the sql server with that user.

Using Windows Authentication.

I don't have any problem with our classic ASP application on this laptop.

Do I need to give different/additional permissions to the SQL server for ASP.NET sites?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Below is the error message and web.config entry. Hard to track down the exact code. It works fine on our other servers:

<add name="ApplicationServices" connectionString="Server=goebase-Laptop\SQLEXPRESS;Database=aspnetdb;User ID=username;Password=pass" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

OK, I figured it out, to some degree.

While I was unable to login using SQL Server Authentication as the user, Windows Authentication did work. But, the application requires SQL Server Authentication. So, I had to change it to use the "sa" account, and all works fine now.
