Microsoft Deployment Took Kit - Display Custom Message

Is there a way to display a custom message at the end of a new computer task sequence? I attempted to run notepad.exe c:\path\to\file.txt as a command line task as my final step, but that didn't work. Notepad was running, and the progress bar was stuck on that step. However, I couldn't see notepad. After killing it in task manager, the entire process wrapped up.
