I am new to video editing. I recently bought CyberLink Director 11 Ultimate for video editing thinking it to be easy for video editing but it is not that easy. What I want is to cut or transfer a segment of a film/video  but I do not know how to do it. Could anyone help me in this regard?

That is a bit complex because it starts explaining all the aspects of Power Director. I want to know how to slice or copy a video segment of a larger video from the start and the end from the timeline. Which tools I have to use for that?

That is more to the point but you have to remove the unwanted film track as well which I did from the film portion before the selected first split and the film afterwards the second split There is no need for  cutting the film segment then.
Obviously there has to be two splits if you want to transfer/cut a segment of the video/film except in the beginning and at the end there would be only one split.
Learning through remote control is difficult that is why there are classes taught by teachers/professors so there will be interactive questions and answers on the spot in the classroom.
