Microsoft Exchange 2007 queue

Hello everyone,

I have 2 CAS/transport/hub  (load balanced) and 2 mailbox database serves

Suddenly trasport/hub/CAS started to experience delays.  The messages are piling up on both CAS/Transport/Hub server  queues  and, when the number of messages is around 200,  the queue released the messages

My Exchange was implemented in 2007/2008 and I have never experience this type of delay/problem

What's  strange is the timing.  Both servers have started to behave almost identically (piling up the messages,  release them,  and start over again) at approximately at the same time
after few years

Anyone saw something like that ? .  I have rebooted CAS/HUB servers but not the Mail database servers yet

Thank you in advance for reading my post and for the time taken to answer

Cheers

Any events seen on the Event logs ?
What AV do we have ? What if you disable them for the time and restart the server ?

Actually it was Symantec Antivirus which created the problem.
