Can an e-mail address @ outlook dot com tell location?

Can an e-mail address @ outlook dot com tell location of the person who has that as their e-mail address. I've heard of reverse lookups that can show an e-mail address.

What is the different between @ Outlook and @ hotmail?
I use @ hotmail and the program is seen as Outlook.

If you work through whois sites on the email address, it will only tell you where the email ISP is.

My main email address in the US, and I do not live in the US. I cannot convince Microsoft I don't live in the US because of the above. They don't know where I am.

Hotmail is now Outlook.com. One and the same for a few months now.

All I got there was that Outlook was a Microsoft domain.
Nothing more.

Yes, of course, that is all there is for Outlook.

So to your first question, no one can figure out your whereabouts from that information.

No one can figure out where you are with the above.

I am xxxx at one of the mail.com addresses and no one knows where I am because of that.

The only intelligence in an email address is the email ISP. There is nothing more to the outside observer (outside of the email ISP).

@outlook.com does not tell ISP and can not tell ISP. Right?

JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
Outlook.com will only point to Microsoft, which is the email ISP for outlook.com.  So right.

What I mean by Email ISP is "Email Provider"

so someone with xxxx @ outlook dot com is basically hiding their location because it is always seen as Microsoft which is Seattle Washington?
Or e-mail header sees actually ISP?

JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
In my experience, the email header will show the IP of Microsoft (because it is the email provider) but that is all. I am assuming Microsoft is its own provider. For small shops, you will see the IP of the provider hosting the small shop.
