I have the ASUS M5A97 R 2.0 AMD motherboard with PCI-E 2.0 Graphics slot. I have a nvidia GT 630 2 GB PCI-E 2.0 Graphics Card.<br />

I saw a good deal with PCI-E 3.0 Gigabyte AMD/ATI GV-R775OC-2GI 2 GB DDR3 Graphics Card.<br />
<br />
Is PCI-E 3.0 slot backward compatible with PCI-E 2.0 slot. Will I be able to install the PCI-E 3.0 slot Graphics Card in my PCI-E 2.0 Graphics slot in my ASUS M5A97 R 2.0 AMD motherboard.<br />

Regarding backward compatibility of PCI-Express 3.0 cards with PCI-E 2.0 slot.

Components are those devices that are internal to a computer -- the PC boards, the central processor (CPU), the memory (RAM), disk and video controllers and so on.

Components

A peripheral device is defined as a computer device, such as a keyboard or printer, that is not part of the essential computer (i.e., the memory and microprocessor).
