I have a computer running XP and IE 8 is throwing Run Time Errors,   I removed 8, went back to 6 and run time errors still showed up.  I re-installed IE8 but still the same.  Any idea how to stop this?

It is probably an addin. I would re-install IE 8 because it is from the last decade and then:

1. Open IE8
2. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.
3. See if there are any toolbars or anything other than Microsoft, Java and Adobe related plugins.
4. Disable the addins that look suspicious or disable all of them and enable them one by one until you can figure out the one causing the issue.

If that doesn't work, can you post the error message?

It says

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information."

Yea typically things that crash with C++ errors are tied to addins.

I have to disable in Safe Mode because in regular mode, the runtime error shows as soon as IE opens.

When you run IE in safe mode it works fine? It is definitely an addin. Safemode disables all the addins adn that is why it works. Can you post a list of the addins so we can help you disable them?

Disable everything but the last five. Open IE and see if it still gives the error, it probably won't. Then enable the addins one by one until it starts happening again.

I would enable one, shutdown IE, reopen IE and then enable the next one.

If it was me I would uninstall the Yahoo! toolbar from add/remove programs,

The Yahoo Toolbar and Yahoo Toolbar help seemed to be causing it.   I looked in the Add/Remove programs and could not find them to remove them, but I did disable them in Add-ons and the Runtime error no longer shows.
