What needs to be done to correct this issue:
To save changes on an object, the object must be upgraded to the current Exchange verson.  After the upgrade, this object cannot be managed by an earlier verson of the Exchange Management Tools.

In order to correct this message you have to upgrade the Distribution List to the current Exchange Version (as the message states).

Let me explain what that means:
If you decide not to upgrade the Distribution Group, ALs or EAPs, there will be no broken functionality from Exchange (the message will stay). However, you will not be able to edit part of Properties from the new Exchange Management Console until they are upgraded, like Membership Approval. Most of the other functions are the same. This allows you to use older Exchange Management Tools if for some reason you still need to do that.

If you upgrade the Distribution Group, then the issue will be corrected. You fill be able to manage everything from the new Exchange Management Console, but older consoles will no longer work and cannot be used to do management.

Here is a guide on how to perform the upgrade if you need it:
