show html in text input

Hello I have a text input that I am trying submit and update html code in a data file.  It works fine for submit but when I try to echo it data in my update program the the html in the text field  is being read as html and not text.   How can I do this. Thanks

<input name="google_verify" type="text" class="text_field" id="name" size="35" maxlength="200" value="<?php echo $row_site['sit_google_verification']; ?>">

Use htmlentities($str) Function to insert data.
