Hi,

I have been unable to use Autodiscover on my SBS 2008 server with Exchange 2007.

I found this: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/A_4962-7-Steps-to-AutoDiscover-Heaven.html.

In IIS everything from Exchange is in the folder SBS Web Applications.

If I run on EMS (As Administrator): New-AutoDiscoverVirtualDirectory it creates a Autodiscover Virtual Directory fine, but only under the Default Web Site, so no good!

If I run: New-AutoDiscoverVirtualDirectory -websitename "SBS Web Applications", I get an error:
New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory : An error occurred while creating the IIS vir
tual directory 'IIS://FQDN NAME OF SERVER/W3SVC/3/ROOT/Autodiscover' on 'NETBIOS NAME OF SERVER'.
At line:1 char:33
+ New-AutoDiscoverVirtualDirectory <<<<  -websitename "SBS Web Applications"
+ CategoryInfo          : InvalidOperation: (NETBIOS NAME OF SERVER\Aut...b Applicati
   ons):ADObjectId) [New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory], InvalidOperationExcep
  tion
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 513D178,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConf
   igurationTasks.NewAutodiscoverVirtualDirectory

I also tried: New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory -WebsiteName "SBS Web Applications" -InternalUrl "https://FQDN internal name of server/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml" -BasicAuthentication 1 -WindowsAuthentication 1

Error:
New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory : An error occurred while creating the IIS vir
tual directory 'IIS://FQDN NAME OF SERVER/W3SVC/3/ROOT/Autodiscover' on 'NETBIOS NAME OF SERVER'.
At line:1 char:33
+ New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory <<<<  -WebsiteName "SBS Web Applications" -I
nternalUrl "https://FQDN NAME OF SERVER/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml" -Basi
cAuthentication 1 -WindowsAuthentication 1
    + CategoryInfo          : InvalidOperation: (SRV-PKAT-01\Aut...b Applicati
   ons):ADObjectId) [New-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory], InvalidOperationExcep
  tion
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 513D178,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConf
   igurationTasks.NewAutodiscoverVirtualDirectory

The SBS Web Applications has my certificate linked, so I need to use this.

I even removed the CAS role and then reinstalled it. This made things worse. It recreated some Virtual Dirs, but all in Default Web Site.

I ended up deleting all virtual dirs and recreating all of them. All worked fine, except Autodiscover.

Anyone can help me out?

Thank you very much!

Kind regards,
Ray

Not sure if this will work with SBS,  but I see an other Exchange post that resolved similar issue using Metabase Explorer (scroll to the end of the thread to find the steps).
