Hello

Updates have stopped working since a subdomain was created on the same subnet and OAB is now trying to update from this subdomain dc SRV01.

Event 9330
OALGen encountered error 80040115 (internal ID 50004ef) accessing Active Directory SRV01 for ''.
- /o=Aaro Gruppen/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Offline address book

This is not a CCR cluster so I guess I cannot use http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd285503(EXCHG.80).aspx ?

Should I use
Set-ExchangeServer -Identity exserver -StaticExcludedDomainControllers:srv01 ?

Can I change the DC in some other way?

thanks

Magnus

Hi,

The OAB generator will connect to the DC using NetBIOS, i.e. XYZ. What you need to do is add the DNS suffixes of both domains to the Exchange server in the proper order, that is top first (root.local), children next (mydom.xyz.com). It then should be able to contact the DC to generate the OAB. To force an update instead of waiting for the generation cycle, use the cmdlet update-offlineaddressbook.

Please find the below link as well....

Hi Dhananjay and thank's for the reply.

If I can contact the subdomain dc will it populate the OAB with root.local users since last update? That is my goal and the subdomain is just a test domain without users.

regards

Hi

have now added the 2 DNS Suffix and I can ping the hostname in the event from the Exchange server.
Tried running the commands

update-offlineaddressbook -identity "Offline address book"

Also with switch -domaincontroller srv01.subdomain.domain.com
Or
-domaincontroller srv01.domain.com

They both generate event 9339 and 9334

How can I remove or change the DC from OAB?

Regards

Magnus
