Fujitsu E5731 freezes before startup

Hi,

I have a Fujitsi E5731 that keeps freezing before startup, this isn't before XP startup, it only comes up with the Fujitsu logo, then at the bottom right there's a loading bar which only loads between 1/3 and 1/2.

I've tried several things to resolve the issue, remove/reseat memory/CMOS battery, i've disconnected all cables and reconnected.

I've swapped the CMOS battery with another, i've also attempted to reinstall by repeatedly tapping F12 to get into the boot menu, yet still doesnt seem to get any further.

Any suggestions would be grateful.

Thank you.

With all drives disconnected how far does the bootup go?  Does it still have the same problem?

So that looks like a hard disk failure?
