there is an administrator password set on this device which i don't know.
how can i reset the password ? or remove it ?

There is no default password for HP that I know of.  I looked up a few things and found a Cold Reset is your best option.  It will completely reset the printer (more information)

You may have to call HP support if that doesn't work to have them help with the password reset.

the cold reset did not work.
i eventually found the original password. so all is ok now
