I have a facebook friend that is constantly posting.  On my computer I edited the news feed settings to remove their posts from my news feed.  However, I just realized that this setting did not take effect on my iPhone application.  Now, without de-friending someone, is there a way to remove them from the news feed on an iPhone app?

Unfortunately you can't edit the FB app on the phone as you do on your PC.   From their name you can click on them, then click on the friends tab and edit friends list, then make them an acquaintance.  This should reduce their posts.
