asked on

using MSA's in IIS ApplicationPools

Hi @ All

Is it possible to use Active Directory managed service accounts in the IIS application pools (used by  by the MS Exchange OWA) instead of using "LocalSystem" or the "ApplicationPoolIdentity" ? Are MSA's compatible with IIS Application Pools?

If not, what are the disadvantages and what do I have to be aware about when using "ApplicationPoolIdentity"?

Thanks for your help.

The disadvantage of manage service accounts was that the same account couldn’t be used on multiple servers, couldn’t be used for sheduled tasks and couldn’t be used for IIS Application Pools, SQL and other applications.
