Create a Blog in Drupal

We want a blog on a Drupal site; see http://amcindustries.com.previewdns.com/. Note the menu item "What's New". This is where it will go.

I read "just turn on the Blog Module"; so I did. It now gives me "Blog Entry" as one of the content types.

But how do I make a general page & hook it to the menu item "What's New"; then how do "bloggers" put content onto THAT page?

Obviously, I'm missing something.

Thanks

The way to do that is with Views.
http://drupal.org/project/views
You might have lots of questions about doing this, but give it a try.

The other solution would be to have one log in designated as the blog user and have anyone creating a blog post use that log in and they can put their own name at the bottom of their post to distinguish users if that is important.

Create new content, choose Blog as the type. All posts will show up on the page:
yourwebsite.com/username
Oh wait, I misread the question. You want to create a main menu item called What's New and have it go to the link above.

Is there going to be more than one username in the website blogging? Each user normally gets their own blog page.

Yes, there will be multiple users. But ALL the blogs need to go on ONE page.

To Nan,

See attached. There are two problems.

I don't need the word "Blog" as the page title; it should be "What's New".

I want a different user name (NOT admin) for the blog. I created that generic user name; do I have to delete this page (blog) & create a new one logged in as the "blog" User?

How can I fix these?

Thanks

You can change page titles with the module:
http://drupal.org/project/page_title

No, you can go into the menu and change the link to the new username.

Changing the link DOES NOT work.

See attached.

AMCExpert is the username I want.

I have to use the crazy url because the current live sire (old) is still used until we get this done. This is GoDaddy's way of dealing with this.

Jusr put AMExpert, not the whole URL, if you do that you have to use the whole URL, starting with http

Did you fix the way you structured the URL?

Nan,

I don't know what you mean.

In the patch (which is where you were getting the error message, put ONLY:
AMCExpert,
NOT the rest of what you put there.

Nan,

It fails, see attached.

I also attached how I set up AMCExpert as a "person"; maybe that is the issue.

To all.

What we want is something like this. http://www.kascomarine.com/blog/

Can this be done in Drupal? (This one was done in Wordpress).

We need a blog for the whole site, not for individuals.

Thanks
