NEXUS PORT CHANNEL CONFIG

Would this be an appropriate configuration for a port channel on a Nexus 5548.   Is the Spanning Tree info required??

interface port-channel215
  switchport mode trunk
  switchport trunk allowed vlan 501-503,601-602
  spanning-tree port type edge
  spanning-tree bpduguard enable
  vpc 215

Could be.  If this is going to a server, yes. But if it's connecting to another switch, the spanning-tree port type edge, could be a problem.

Yes...should have mentioned that.  I was curious as to why you have to be so detailed with the Port channel config when infact all this info is also on the physical port

Well, you don't (have to put all the configurations on the port-channel interface). The configuration (L2 and up) is inherited by the port-channel interface when the channel-group command is applied to the physical interface.
