Hi, I have a 2003 sbs server running exchange 2003.
this morning, we have 48,000 failure emails sat in the out queue.
We are in the process of virus scanning the complete system.

Is there a fast way I can clear all the emails off this queue.
At the moment, I can only highlight 10,000 emails and have been waiting hours on the first batch for 3 hours now.

please note, I'm removing the from postmaster email bounce backs.

If I recall correctly you should be able to delete the files from the Queue folder usually under c:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\vsi 1

However, I have never done this and cannot say if it will cause any other problems.

Go through my cleanup article here:
http://semb.ee/spamcleanup

It explains how to secure and cleanup the server following this kind of issue.
