Hi all :)

We have just aquired a Polycom VSX7000 videoconferencing system.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to our procurve router to allow the H.323 traffic to pass through? Currently it is not being allowed. I can dial and connect to external sites using the remote sites IP but I don't get any sound or picture

thanks
Tracy

I did a bit of reading and have set up a NAT to allow TCP 3230 - 3235 and UDP 3230 - 3253.

I still don't get a picture but am connecting to the far end

the issue is that like FTP, H323 contains IP addresses in the packets, so you need an ALG (Application Layer Gateway) in the router that can re-write the H323 packets.

depending on what you are connecting to at the far end, you might have some success by enabling NAT mode in the HDX, but this will be determined by the remote endpoint or H323 gateway.
