Exchange 2007 Edge server transport service cannot start

On my Exchange 2007 Edge server MS Exchange Transport service cannot be started. On the event log there is error:

Event ID: 1016
Event Source: MSExchange TransportService
Event Type: Error
Description: The worker process crashes continuously on startup: <%programfiles%>\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Bin\edgetransport.exe. The service will be stopped.

Please help. Thanks.
