Script to add user to Component Services

I intend to add user "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool" to DCom Config "Microsoft Excel Application" but I am having problem on my Windows Server 2008.

- I cannot find "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool" on Win 2008.

From this link http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproappcompat/thread/dde69147-a01a-4eb1-8ea9-31adbf874bed it seems to suggest adding permission on "My Computer" is an option.

But, how to add "IIS AppPool\DefaultAppPool" user instead of Network Service for Win 2008?

BTW, I found this.

https://bradhowe.ca/2011/02/15/add-dcom-permissions-to-iisapppool-identity-account-in-windows-server-2008/

But I would love if someone can have an official method to solve my problem before I try the above unofficial tool.

Yes but that shouldn't be the case.

so incorporate the usage of dcomperm in your powersehll, that would be my best suggestion if it's working for you.
