max lun id..allowed in VM 3.5/4.1/5

is there any work around if we alerdy recahed with max limit  256 for lun id allowed in esx?

if yes..how we can implement it?

if no..please advcie best solution in this case

I'm afraid not, this is the maximum currently for ESXi 3.5/4.1 and 5.0 as defined in the Maximums Document.

Configuration Maximums for VMware vSphere 5.0

You could try "merging LUNs" or making larger LUNs.

Merging LUNs, is a manual function for most, ON your SAN, it's not an VMware function.

e.g. creating a larger lun on your SAN, and storage vMotion from two smaller LUNs.

then remove the two smaller LUNs.
