When I try to open photoshop for a file that is stored on a network drive by double clicking on the folder - photshop opens but the screen is grey the image doesn't show.

If i take the same file and put it on my local drive it opens fine.

Thanks for the articles - I appreciate what they are saying however corruption doesn't appear to be an issue here it appears to be a file permission problem.  The user has full access to the files and they do not work - on a hunch I gave the user admin rights and now the files open fine.  There is no error when it tries to open the files they just don't display.

Turns out the problem was the user did not have share permissions to the parent folder and the even though I can them NTFS permissions at the lower level the share permissions from the parent must have taken over.
