Windows 64 bit system always gives me this same exact issue.  When i go to save as after installing office 2010 the save as freezes and locks up office.  The computer is on a domain.
I disabled network visiablity
I reinstalled office
I ran office in safe mode
I disconnected all network drives
I ran sfc /scannow

Nothing seems to fix this issue other than downgrading the computer to 32 bit windows.
Please help this happens constantly there has to be some type of fix!

Did you install the 64-bit version of Office?  It's probably a compatibility issue,  if it's the 32-bit version i'd install 64-bit, if it's the 32-bit version i'd trying installing 64.

Does the install not auto detect? I have a setup file and then two folders x86 and x64
I can try running the specific setup in x64 and see if that works.

It installs the 32 bit version by default, so definitely try out 64 bit

thanks a million i wasn't aware that the setup.exe defaults to 32 bit regardless of the system. I ran the x64 setup.exe and it works fine thanks again
